BETSY BRACKEN
Lead Event Specialist, Citrus Special Events
Betsy Bracken is an expert in event design and execution, with wide-ranging experience in creating and managing all facets of event planning and production. Her comprehensive knowledge of the event industry, along with her attention to detail and effective contract negotiation skills, have won the praises of clients such as Microsoft, Starbucks, Best Buy, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, the Alzheimer’s Association and many more.
As Lead Event Specialist for Citrus Special Events, Betsy applies her creativity, finesse, and industry expertise to produce stellar events from start to finish. From launch parties and tradeshows to charity golf tournaments and fundraising galas, Betsy delivers results that exceed clients’ expectations, keeping them coming back year after year.
Prior to launching Citrus Special Events in 2007, Betsy planned and implemented small meetings and large scale events for clients such as AT&T, the University of Washington and Holland America Line at Columbia Hospitality’s highly acclaimed Bell Harbor International Conference Center and World Trade Center in Seattle, Wash. In her role as Event Planning Manager, Betsy spearheaded all on-site and operational event aspects including room layouts, food and beverage selections, audio/visual requirements and most importantly, overall client satisfaction.
Before working for Columbia Hospitality, Betsy was the Director of Special Events for the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce, North San Diego County’s largest business organization. In this role, she was responsible for planning, directing and implementing all phases of the Chamber’s events (both large and small). Throughout her career with the Chamber, Betsy had the opportunity to work closely with the staff at world-renowned resorts and establish strong working relationships with high-profile business professionals and representatives from all levels of government throughout Southern California. Her effective event marketing strategies, outstanding organizational skills and ability to build lasting relationships with vendors and event participants, resulted in a significant increase in revenue for the Chamber and a reputation of excellence.
Betsy graduated from the University of Puget Sound with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Music and earned a certificate of completion from the prestigious Floral Design Institute in Seattle, Wash. She now lives in Cardiff-by-the-Sea, Calif.
